After a stellar high school career at Nevada Union where Ali Daley led California with 814 kills, 439 digs, 164 blocks and 105 aces, she traveled south to play at Long Beach State as an outside hitter. In her only year as a 49er, Daley was named Big West Conference Freshman of the Year and All-Big West First Team during the 2005 season. She was also a two-time Big West Player of the Week and went three consecutive matches without an attack error, recording 30 kills on 55 attacks for a .545 hitting percentage. Daley moved to UCLA for her sophomore season and started 26 matches. She led the Bruins with 16 kills and 15 digs in the National semi-finals against Nebraska in Omaha, hitting .366 for the match. Starting all 32 matches her junior year, Daley was named All-Pac 10 Honorable Mention. She led the Bruins with 23 double-doubles, an astounding 1,413 attack attempts, and notched her 1,000th career kill against Oregon State. Her senior season Ali led the Bruins with 353 kills and 23 aces and was named the Pac 10 Player of the Week Dec. 1. Daley was named to the 2008 Austin NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team and All-Pac 10 Honorable Mention. She also joined the exclusive 1,000 kill and 1,000 dig club as a Bruin and graduated with a BA in Sociology.
Daley played professionally as the team captain for Las Caribes in Puerto Rico and a second season in Spain for Division A1 Gran Canarias. While at UCLA Daley coached for Sunshine VBC and helped in the Wave Youth Camps last summer after moving to North County. Daley is entering her second season as a Wave coach. Last year, she assisted the Wave 14's, which won two JO qualifiers and finished 9th in Open at the Junior Nationals.
