Casey McFarland graduated from La Costa Canyon High School in 2000 where she was named All-CIF her senior year for her role as an outside hitter on the volleyball team.  She was an outstanding defensive specialist while playing volleyball at UCSB, reaching the NCAA Regional Finals in 2001. Casey graduated Cum Laude in 2004 from UCSB, earning a BA in Communications and minors in Applied Psychology and Sports Management. Continuing her education, Casey received a Masters in Public Health from SDSU in 2009, earning Summa Cum Laude honors for her work in Health Promotion.

An active beach player, Casey competed in the World Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Federation in 2008. She has been coaching high school, indoor and outdoor camps, and club volleyball for 11 years and is entering her 5th year as a Wave coach. Last club season her Wave 12-1's finished 3rd in the SCVA 12 & Under Division and earned a Bronze Medal in 13 National at the USA Junior Nationals Championships held in Atlanta, GA. Casey is currently a health teacher and volleyball coach for Pacific Ridge School and Palomar College. During her free time she enjoys playing beach volleyball, surfing, snowboarding, hiking, and traveling.
