We are so excited to see you for an upcoming WAVE camp session! Please read carefully and see below for important information about our health & safety protocols and check-in instructions. We want everyone to be comfortable with what to expect for when you arrive. Please note there is a mask-wearing requirement for indoor athletes, in addition to parking information per the videos below.
If your plans have changed, please let us know ASAP (email email@example.com), as our camp programs generally have a waiting list. Thank you!
Please scroll below for our health & safety protocols. Some brief key items: All athletes must wear a mask when entering and exiting the facility, indoor athletes must wear a mask for all indoor sessions, touchless temperature checks are performed at check-in, and social distancing with frequent hand sanitizing will be observed. Please remember to bring your own water bottle and snack if you need one. Campers will be in stable groups per San Diego Day Camp guidelines.
Dropoff is no more than 15 minutes prior to your session’s scheduled start time to allow for cleaning between sessions. Pickup is promptly at the end of each session (see parking video below).
Parents, at this time we are not allowing persons other than athletes to wait in line for check-in. Please park in the lot to allow your athlete to walk up, and do not walk up to the check-in line with your athlete. Both North and South indoor and sand facilities are closed for parent viewing at this time to reduce people in the same space. Please do not assemble or watch through the North gym doors. Our restrooms are not available to the public due to cleaning procedures.
*Ripple K-2n d grade parents: as an exception for our youngest campers – ONE parent or guardian may check-in their athlete and sit in the designated distanced chairs in the facility. You must wear a mask at all times to enter, and stay in the facility until the end of the session. Please, no other young children/siblings etc. allowed.
Get oriented to our new entrances/exit flow, hand sanitizing stations, and other new information from the video link below!
Parking: We have updated our drop off and pick up procedures at WAVE. Please make sure you watch the video below and listen to the audio. We have added a loading and unloading zone next to the South gym. The new barricade allows two lines to form while traffic can continue to pass. Please pull into the new lane or pull up next to the barricade to drop off and pick up your athlete. It is important that we don’t create blockage in front of the South gym.
– All athletes wear a mask entering and exiting the facility, and indoor players wear a mask at all times.
– Use hand sanitizer when entering, exiting and during water breaks
– Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
– Practice physical distancing – stay 6 feet away from people.
– Stay home if sick.
A reminder from public health sources: If you have had close contact with someone with COVID-19 while they were ill but are not sick, you should not go to work or school, and should avoid public places for 10 days.
You should monitor your health for fever, cough and shortness of breath during the 10 days after the last day you were in close contact with the sick person with COVID-19.
Thank you for your cooperation and support. We look forward to an awesome camp for your athlete!
WAVE Volleyball will be following health protocols recommended by the CDC and other relevant regulatory approved sources. These will be, though not limited to, the following:
Signage will be posted at entrances and exits of North and South Gym indicating WAVE Volleyball is invested in following the correct health protocols. These signs will clearly state one cannot gain entry if they have Covid -19, are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19, or if they or any of their friends or family members have been exposed to Covid -19.
All athletes and coaches must complete the updated WAVE Volleyball Waiver before participating in any activities at the North and South facilities. Online waiver is highly encouraged over paper copy. We will have a sign with the link for athletes to fill out on their own personal electronic device if they have not done so upon arriving.
We will have a safe and fast check-in line starting at our South Gym entrance gate, and ending at a pop-up tent in front of doors of the South Gym. This is where athletes will be checked into their session, their temperature will be taken, and they will be able to sanitize their hands. Red tape will be placed on the ground at least 6 ft. apart in front of the check-in table with signs directing customers to use the markings to maintain distance while in line for check in.
All beach athletes waiting in line must wear a mask until they are cleared and have entered the facility. All indoor athletes and all coaches waiting in line must wear a mask at all times.
All players, whether training in the South or North gym must check in at the table in front of South Gym. They must have filled out our updated waiver and sanitized their hands before starting the session.
The earliest that athletes can come to the facility is 15 minutes before their practice so that the previous group has left the facility and cleaning has been completed.
If the athlete has a private lesson, they must pay the coach through contact-free payment, such as Paypal, Cashapp, or Venmo. No paper payment is allowed.
Coaches and staff members will have their temperatures taken prior to their beginning work. If the temperature is 100 or over, they must sit for about 3-4 minutes and be tested again to see if reading is consistent. If they get 100 or over more than once, the coach or staff staff member will be sent home. After temperature is checked and the coach or staff is cleared, they will receive a colored sticker indicating they have been cleared, they will sanitize, and then may head to North or South for training.
All players will have their temperature taken upon checking in for sessions. If players are practicing in the North gym, they must have their temperature taken at the South gym first. Once the athletes have had their temperature taken and are approved, they will receive a colored sticker indicating they have been cleared and then may head to North for training. As with coaches, if the temperature is 100 or over, they must sit for about 3-4 minutes and be tested again to see if reading is consistent. If they get 100 or over more than once, the athlete will be sent home. After temperature is checked and the player is cleared they will sanitize, head to their gym, and then can get on court.
Disinfectant, hand sanitizer, soap and water, and related supplies effective against COVID-19 are available to all players and coaches. Off the courts we have hand sanitizer stations located by each indoor court, Agility and Strength area, and outside by our beach courts. We will also have spray sanitizing bottles on each court.
No parents will be allowed in the facility. They must drop their athlete off at the gym and will not be allowed to pass the gray gates at South Gym or the front entrance of North gym. The only exception is for our Ripple Program that is for K-2nd graders. One parent for each athlete will be allowed in the facility for the hour-long clinic.
We will have designated lanes and directions to enter and exit for drop off/pickup.
There will be a clear path into and out of the facility so that the stable groups of athletes are not coming into contact with another stable group upon entering and exiting the facility.
All relevant payments for programs must be done online. Retail sales payments will be accepted at the facility with card only; payments will not require credit card signature.
All athletes and staff can bring personal items such as bags, cell phones, reusable water bottles, and backpacks into the facility.
We have removed all chairs and benches from the facility. No seating will be available except for when we host our K-2nd grade clinic. Those chairs will be placed 6 ft. apart and wiped down each week.
All food services and vending machines will be closed.
There will be no use of the water fountain or gatorade machines during these training sessions. However, the hands-free/touchless water bottle filler will be open for use. Use of the on site water fountain and gatorade machine will resume when medical guidelines permit this kind of activity. Hence, athletes must bring their own water or other liquids to drink during training.
Only two people will be allowed in the bathroom at any given time in the South Gym bathrooms. Only one person is allowed in the bathrooms by the North gym and will be cleaned every two hours.
Two ball carts will be assigned to each stable group and volleyballs will be numbered so that there will be no intermixing of balls. They will be cleaned and disinfected at the end of the day.
In South Gym, the netting in between each court will be enclosed on the South side of the gym so that balls are not rolling from court to court.
To assist with physical distancing, lines will be in place with 6 ft. markers to staff and athletes to maintain a safe distance to enter and exit the facility.
Athletes and staff must exit the facility with masks on and maintain 6 ft. of distance for safe social distancing.
All indoor participants (athletes and staff) will wear masks at all times.
Coaches will sanitize their hands prior to beginning to work, and will sanitize their hands multiple times during training sessions.
Players will sanitize their hands multiple times during their training session. Hand sanitizer spray bottles will be in place on all occupied courts.
No handshakes, hugs, fist bumps or contact of any kind between players or coaches will be allowed.
Coaches and staff members will closely monitor all players at all times. Athletes must stay on their assigned courts.
At the end of each training day coaches will cooperate in the cleaning of their assigned balls, ball carts and any other training equipment utilized.
Athletes and coaches are encouraged to wash their hands and sanitize immediately after each session.
All trash lids will be removed so that trash cans are touchless.
At the end of each day, WAVE staff and coaches will use a mop with soap and water to clean the court surface for the next day.
Bathroom facilities, front desks, and any other high-contact surfaces will be frequently sanitized and cleaned.
Copies of the Protocol have been distributed to all current athletes, families, and coaches.
Signage will be posted at entrances and exits indicating WAVE Volleyball is invested in following the correct health protocols. These signs will clearly state one cannot gain entry if they have Covid -19, are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19, or if they or any of their friends or family members have been exposed to Covid -19.
Staff members are instructed to welcome and greet everyone from a distance of six feet. There will be no physical touching permitted with any guest or fellow staff member and all must maintain 6 feet distancing. Masks must be worn at all times.
All staff members will have their temperature taken upon entry to the facility. If the temperature is 100 or over, they will be sent home.
Disinfectant, hand sanitizer, and related supplies effective against COVID-19 are available to all employees in the South and North gym. Employees must sanitize hands when entering either facility.
Soap and water are available to all employees in the South gym bathroom.
When meetings are held in the boardroom, employees will be 6 feet apart from one another and will wear masks.
Desks, chairs, and other high-contact surfaces will be frequently sanitized and cleaned.
