Amanda Prather grew up in Granite Bay, California playing volleyball. She comes from a family of volleyball players & coaches and has been around the sport her whole life. She has coached indoor and sand volleyball over the course of 4 years. She coached on the sand for Northern California Volleyball Club, as well as coached camps and clinics at Synergy Force Volleyball Club. She has also done private lessons focusing on setting. She is currently the Varsity Assistant coach at San Dieguito Academy High School.
Amanda was a setter and played at Synergy Force Volleyball Club in Roseville, CA, as well as Granite Bay High School. In 2013 her GBHS team won the California Division 1 state title. She was recruited to play at Division 1 school Marist College but suffered an injury in preseason and transferred to San Diego State University.
She graduated from San Diego State University in 2021 with a degree in Journalism and Media studies. She then started graduate school at The University of San Diego where she will be seeking a Master’s in Education and a teaching credential.
Amanda encourages her athletes to be the best they can on and off the court. She values hard work, perseverance, and positive attitudes.
