Originally from Union, Kentucky, a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cody attended Northern Kentucky University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2017.
Previously a head coach at Tri-State Elite Volleyball Club in Cincinnati, Ohio from 2014-2021. In his last three seasons at TSE, his teams amassed 139 wins to only 47 losses. Tournament wins include 1st place and 6-0 at the 2021 JVA Summerfest in 15 Premier, 1st place and 9-0 at the 2019 JVA World Challenge in 17 Premier, 1st place and 7-0 at the 2019 Ultra Ankle Bluegrass Tournament in 17 Premier, 1st place and 5-0 at the 2019 JVA Buckeye Battle in 17 open. In 2018, his 16-2 team finished their season placing 3rd at the AAU Girls' Junior National Championships in 16 Premier.
Cody's coaching philosophy is to provide a balance of optimal performance, experience, and development to student-athletes. Quality sport participation involves the thrill of optimal performance, the satisfaction of an optimal experience that has great meaning in one's life, and the feeling of accomplishment through the development of skills.
His values include - accountability, communication, and effort.

In August 2021, he moved to San Diego for work, where he is able to continue his love of volleyball, whether it be coaching or playing indoor/beach.
