Jarrod was born and raised in Carlsbad, CA. He attended Cathedral Catholic High School and played club at Coast VBC. In 2015, Jarrod's High School team won CIF in the open division. After graduating from Cathedral, Jarrod attended Santa Barbara City College where he played on their volleyball team for two years. Jarrod then transferred to Menlo College (NAIA division) to play his last two years of collegiate ball. Jarrod was the captain of the team during his senior year at Menlo.
Jarrod starting coaching club volleyball in 2016. He spent one season with Coast VBC, one season with Academy VBC, and three seasons with Bay to Bay VBC. Jarrod has experience coaching both boys and girls club at age groups between 14 and 18. Jarrod has 10 years of playing experience at the Middle Blocker and Opposite position.
Jarrod believes both as a coach and a former player, it's extremely important to continue to learn and continue to develop your skills. The best players come to every training session with a growth mindset. This skill is important on and off the court.
When he's not playing/coaching indoor, he likes to spend his time at the beach surfing, fishing, playing spikeball, and of course beach volleyball. He also enjoys rock climbing, basketball, and rugby.
