Seyvion "Sey" joined the WAVE coaching staff in 2025! She also compete's on WAVE's VLA team, San Diego WAVE.
Seyvion is a former Division I volleyball player turned passionate and purpose-driven coach who truly loves what she does. She played collegiate indoor volleyball at Rice University and
continued her career at CSUN, where she competed in both indoor and beach volleyball from 2017 to 2023. Her years as a student-athlete helped shape her not only as a player, but as a
teammate, and a lifelong learner, qualities she now brings to her coaching every day.
She’s coached across a variety of levels and settings, from club and high school to college and beach volleyball camps. Currently, she serves as a Coach for the CCA Boys Volleyball program. She also was a Volunteer Coach for the CSUN Women’s Beach Volleyball team, coached 12-3’s and 14-3’s teams at Sunshine Volleyball Club and has previously ran clinics with athletes at Sinjin Beach Camps (Santa Monica) and the Murray Sports Complex (Utah).
At the heart of her coaching philosophy is a deep belief in individualized coaching because every athlete is different, and every athlete deserves to be seen, heard, and supported in a way that helps them grow. She creates a space where players can be themselves, feel safe to take risks, and learn through both success and challenge. She cares deeply about developing good people just as much as skilled athletes, and believes that hard work, a strong heart, and a growth mindset matter just as much as raw talent.
Seyvion believes in building her teams on trust, effort, character, and connection. She believes that true success lies in the process, showing up every day with intention, humility, and a willingness to get better, while also being a great teammate. Her goal is for every player to walk away not just stronger in their skills, but more confident in themselves, more connected to their team, and more in love with sports and competition!
