Skyler has been with WAVE since 2012. During his time here, he has coached a variety of levels of indoor teams and beach. As a coach, he focuses his efforts on building hard-working teams made of athletes that strive to fulfill their potential as individuals and teammates on and off the court.
He was born and raised in New Jersey, and graduated from Moorestown High School in 2008. During high school, Heyman was a three year varsity starter and setter.
After high school, Heyman attended High Point University (HPU) in 2008. He graduated from HPU in May 2012, with a B.S. in Sport Management and a Minor in Communications.
While at High Point University, Heyman founded the HPU Men’s club volleyball team in 2008 as a freshman. He was a player/coach during his four years at HPU. Heyman led his team to victory as the HPU Panthers won the Bronze Flight for Division I AAA, at the 2012 National Collegiate Volleyball Federation tournament in Kansas City, Missouri.
Heyman was also an undergraduate Assistant Coach for the HPU women’s varsity team in 2011 and 2012. In 2011, Heyman saw the team win the Big South Conference. In 2012, he was recognized on HPU senior night for his hard work and efforts during the previous two seasons.
