WAVE welcomed coach Taylor during the 2022 season. In addition to coaching at WAVE, Taylor is the Assistant Men's coach at UCSD! Taylor has coached both men from club to collegiate levels. Prior to WAVE, he coached at Balboa Bay Volleyball Club, 949 Volleyball Club, Orange Coast College, and Auburn University.

Taylor started playing volleyball at a young age. His dad, Doug, ran a beach tournament at Lake Mission Viejo that Taylor would hang around as a kid and learn to play. He went on to play at the highest level professionally in Germany, Penn State University, Santa Margarita High School, and Balboa Bay Volleyball Club. He has decorated history with both his playing and coaching career. During his time at Penn State, he earned his degree in communications with a minor in business. He was a 4 year starting setter, a 4 time Conference Champion, a 4 time All Conference selection, and reached the Final Four 3 times. While in Germany he was twice named match MVP and was a German Cup semifinalist. In club at Balboa Bay, he lead his team to 3 Junior National Championships and twice was named to the All Tournament Team. At SMCHS Taylor was 4X All League, MVP his Senior Year. 2X All County & All CIF and led his team to the CIF Finals. Coaching Club his teams have won gold at Festival & Red Rock Rave, earned multiple bids, and achieved multiple top 5 finishes. At Dana Hills HS his teams won League Titles, were a Quarter Finalist in CIF and earned a Top 20 State Ranking. In 2021 at Orange Coast College his team won a Conference Championship capped off with a State Title.

Taylor met his fiancé Jessica at Festival in Arizona about 4 years ago and they have a 11 year old dog Samantha together. In his free time, he enjoys playing beach, hanging out with family and friends, and hiking.
