Sarah joined the WAVE coaching staff in 2023!
Growing up in Santa Cruz, CA, Sarah first left her hometown to attend University of Portland and play volleyball. After playing Middle Blocker her whole high school career, she was a 4-year starting Right Side attacker.
By the end of Sarah’s collegiate career she helped Portland break a laundry list of records including, beating multiple nationally top ranked teams, creating the first winning seasons in Pilot history, and moving up to seventh all-time in the career records in block assists and ninth in team blocks.
As her career in sport came to an end, Sarah found her passion for leadership, personal growth, and the importance of mental health. Sarah graduated with her Leadership Certificate while at Portland, which was just the start.
Currently, as a Mental Skills Mentor & Volleyball Coach Sarah has built a large tool box for coaching and training her athletes. Including, becoming a Neuro-Linguistics Programming Master Coach (same methodologies and modalities Tony Robbins uses), Master Practitioner of Integrated TimeLine Therapy, trained International Coaching Federation (ICF) Coach, and trained by John Maxwell on multiple occasions.
Sarah utilizes her passion for athletics and mental health, combined with her past experiences, to coach and train athletes to create an elite athlete mindset. Sarah coaches under the philosophy that it’s not what's on the court that determines an athlete's success, it’s what's going on in between athletes ears.
