It is with heavy hearts that the WAVE family shares the devastating loss of Mike Mejia โ a beloved firefighter, husband, and father who gave his life in service to others.
Mikeโs sacrifice leaves behind a family he loved deeply: his wife, Marin, and their two beautiful daughters who play at WAVE. He was their hero, protector, and biggest supporter, and his absence leaves an unimaginable void.
In moments like this, community matters. The fire family rallies when one of their own falls, and we want to help surround the Mejia family with the same care, strength, and support. A GoFundMe has been created to help ease the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time, allowing Marin to focus on healing, caring for their daughters, and taking things one day at a time.
Funds will support immediate and ongoing needs, including funeral and memorial expenses, household costs, counseling services, and future needs for the girls.
