addelinpeterson17@gmail.comAddie joined the WAVE coaching staff in 2026! Originally from Beaverton, OR, she assisted youth volleyball camps for Mountainside High School in Beaverton, OR from 2017-2021. She also assisted at youth camps at the University of Oregon through a the Women In Flight program.
Philosophy:
Addie believes in a standards-based approach to coaching. She focuses on teaching proper skills and technique while setting clear expectations for how players show up each day. She wants her athletes to take ownership of their development and understand what it means to compete with purpose. A big part of that is helping them find their “why,” so their motivation comes from within rather than relying on outside pressure. When players bring that kind of internal drive, the team starts to find its rhythm and play with real connection and intent.
Playing History:
Addie started playing volleyball recreationally in middle school and continued at a brand-new high school, where she had the opportunity to grow alongside the program. She was a starting setter and team captain for three years before transitioning to a defensive specialist role. Addie played club volleyball for a smaller program in Oregon, and during junior year she joined YVBA. As a newer player in a more established program, she developed my skills as a DS and learned a lot from the experienced leaders around me. In college, she stayed involved in the game through indoor and outdoor women’s and co-ed intramural teams, where her team's consistently finished near the top and often took first place. More recently, she joined a VOLO league and won a championship with her first team.
Fun Fact:
Addie can do the splits!
