  • Bethany Kepner

Bethany joined the WAVE coaching staff in 2024! Bethany is currently the Director of Volleyball Operations at San Diego State. Prior to SDSU, she was a student manager for the Oregon Volleyball team from 2020-2023 while also playing on the club volleyball team at OU.

Bethany's coaching philosophy has two branches. The first is that volleyball is more than a sport and should teach young athletes valuable lessons and skills for when they enter the real world as young adults. She believes this is important for making good people, not just good athletes. The second branch is the importance of completion and the self-drive. She believes you can teach athletes skills and help them understand strategy, but winning teams are the ones where every single person on the team hates to lose just as much, if not more, as they want to win.
