Amanda Prather grew up in Granite Bay, California playing volleyball. She comes from a family of volleyball players and coaches and has been around the sport her whole life. Amanda was a setter and played at Synergy Force Volleyball Club in Roseville, CA, and Granite Bay High School. In 2013 her GBHS team won the California Division 1 state title.
Amanda has coached indoor and sand volleyball over the course of 5 years. She coached on the sand for Northern California Volleyball Club, and coached camps clinics at Synergy Force Volleyball Club. She spent 2 years coaching JV and Varsity at San Dieguito Academy High School and is now the assistant Varsity coach at La Costa Canyon High School.
Amanda graduated with a degree in Journalism from San Diego State University in 2021, and from The University of San Diego in 2022 with her Master’s in Education and teaching credential. She also teaches in the English Department at La Costa Canyon High School.
Amanda wants to encourage her athletes to be their best on and off the court. She values hard work, perseverance, and a positive attitude.
