Kevin started up coaching at WAVE in 2022! Prior to coaching a team, he coached our Boys Miniseason program (2012).

Coaching Philosophy: Kevin's coaching philosophy consists of providing a fun and safe environment for athletes to grow and develop their sport skill, but more importantly their life skills. They learn teamwork, camaraderie, respect, and how to deal with adversity. Kevin believes in embracing a growth mindset and learning to love the process of progress. Life is a journey where you can always find ways to improve and this sport is a vehicle to learn life lessons in a safe and controlled environment. As a coach he strives to empower athletes to adapt a healthy view or process focused learning. If we can focus on the process of getting better and give it our best we will be able to be satisfied with the result of competition regardless of the outcome.

Playing history includes 4 years at La Costa Canyon, where he won a CIF championship. He also played 4 years (2008-2011) at WAVE where he attended 3 USAV Nationals, twice in the Open division. Kevin went on to be a founding member of the club volleyball team at CSUSM and played there for a few years.

When he's not coaching volleyball he enjoys learning and reading books where he can continue growing as a person. Kevin loves to surf and be in the ocean. He is tremendously grateful for the opportunity to coach and mentor young people through the sport of volleyball.
