WAVE Beach Volleyball is entering its 5th season as a year round beach volleyball club. We are the fastest growing club in California and consider ourselves the leader of Beach Volleyball training in San Diego. Our coaches are dedicated to teaching this great sport, sharing the knowledge they have learned from a lifetime of playing, competing, and enjoying beach volleyball. We are looking for student athletes who want to work hard and be a part of something great. WAVE is the club for the serious beach player who wants to take their game to the next level! Once you enter into our program you can expect expert coaching in a positive and friendly environment. We offer an in-depth beach program for athletes focused on developing and advancing their beach volleyball skills, game knowledge, and fitness. Individuals will be given the opportunity to explore new levels of training through techniques and drills proven to increase personal and team success. Our highly experienced and knowledgeable coaching staff wants nothing more than for each athlete to reach their potential in this great sport. We will train hard, while enjoying our time together at the beach!

Age Specific Training

Our Beach Club program at North “Dog” Beach is open to Girls in 5th-12th grade and Boys in 5th-8th grade. Fundamentals and proven techniques for success will be shared with our younger athletes. Instruction will progress to advanced game strategy, partner communication, and defensive strategies with our older more experienced athletes.

With College Beach Volleyball being labeled as the fastest growing NCAA sport in history it is important you have the best possible team supporting your child. We offer in-house recruiting services at no additional cost to our families.

Beach Pricing

All practice sessions must be used between 8/30-12/16!

COACHING STAFF

WAVE Beach programs are led by Executive Beach Director Matt Olson. Matt was born in raised in San Diego’s County and has been competing professionally since 2001. He has 2 AVP Championships to his credit along with 34 top 5 finishes on the AVP Tour. Matt was named the AVCA Beach Club Coach of the year for 2016.

College Beach Recruiting Coordinator and Lead Instructor: Mike Placek. Mike has been competing professionally on the AVP and NVL tours since 2005. He has 3 NVL Champions to his credit along with 28 top 10 finishes as a beach professional.

Beach Video Director and Instructor: Jimmy Lundgren.

WAVE Beach program coaches include: Skyler Heyman, Jed Stotsenberg, Kelly Reeves, Nick Mercer, Juliana Evens, Mel Adams, Jeana Holman, Jess Pino, Natalie Hagglund, and Amber Walker.
